In southern Jordan there is the historical and archaeological city Petra. It is an UNESCO World Heritage Site. You can see the world famous old Treasury, a whole city into the mountain rocks (rock-cut architecture) and giant gorges. Also there are the famous stone graves.Petra, also known as "Rose City", lies on the slope of Jebel al-Madhbah, that could be the biblical Mount Hor and is in a large valley.
